Hey there, creators!

Looking to make your assets more accessible to find? Tagging is the key!

You can help users find exactly what they're looking for by picking the right words to describe your assets.

Check out these 10 simple tips to level up your tagging game:

  1. Be Descriptive
Make sure your tags describe your submission well. Use simple words that tell people what your asset is about. Consider the style, genre, technical details, emotional vibes, textures, colors, etc. Our guidelines do not allow race, religion, or ethnicity in titles, but these terms can be important to stock users, so include them in tags. Remember, our search engine assigns the same weight to tags as titles!

  2. Be Specific
Try to use words related to your work and avoid generic words if they don't accurately reflect the specific features of your submission.
For example, instead of nature, describe it using specific words like meadow, field, woods, or forest. Instead of ‘woman,’ use specific terms like doctor, student, freelancer, etc., and include women and females in tags.

  3. Be Objective
Avoid using non-objective words like unique, modern, cool, amazing, incredible, beautiful, attractive, etc.

  4. Be Relevant
Avoid generic tags like creative, style, design, graphic, illustration, photo, etc.; they may attract irrelevant traffic.

  5. Be Original
Use diverse tags on each one of your submissions.

  6. Utilize Keywords - Try to think as a user
Consider the words people might use when searching for graphics and photos like yours, and use those words as your tags.

  7. Consider Variations
Think about synonymous words people might use to search for your asset. You can use online dictionaries for inspiration. For example, instead of just ‘truck,’ use ‘lorry,’ ‘Dumptruck,’ ‘dumper,’ ‘tipper,’ ‘pickup’, ‘van,’ ‘semi,’ etc., if those apply.

  8. Analyze Trends
Stay informed about trending topics, styles, and keywords within the creative community. For example: "vertical" is currently trendy due to the rise of social content. Consider providing users with trending content, but remember: Only include trendy keywords if they are relevant to your content.

  9. Quality Over Quantity
While you can add up to 20 tags, it's better to be selective. Pick the tags that best represent your asset. Remember that the first five tag positions carry the most weight in search results.

  10. Watch and Learn
Keep an eye on your tags. If you see that they're not working well, change them in your next submissions.

Tagging your assets well is like spotlighting them in a crowded room. Keep these tips in mind as you tag your creations, and watch them shine brighter in the eyes of users hunting for those perfect assets!

*Don't forget to check your spelling and avoid using capital letters or special characters
